Prayer For A Fallen Police Officer

There comes a time when we lose the people that matter the most to us. Some sacrifice themselves in the line of duty so as to protect others and their communities. We should always pray for their souls even in and after death so that they can reunite with Christ.

Thanksgiving Prayer

Almighty Father, we thank you for the gift of life and health. Thank you for the life you gave the police officer while on earth. Thank you for the times he spent with his loved ones. We are thankful that he had the opportunity to create memories together with his friends, colleagues and family. Thank you for the times that he was present in the lives of his loved ones. Thank you Lord Jesus for his/her selfless example of courage and valor.

Lord we trust that everything happens because you allow them to happen. Thank you that your will was done upon his life. Thank you that you gave us the gift of a good solider and that he was present throughout our lives until the time when you decided that you wanted him back with you. Thank you for all the happy years we enjoyed together. Thank you that he served everyone selflessly. Thank you for his sacrifice and service of laying down his life for the sake of others.

Forgive him of all his sins that he committed against you and against the people. He served the people and the country well. He took care of our needs in every way possible. He always tried to give us the best and be fair in treating everyone. Thank you that he was in the front line to protect us. Just like you Jesus died for our sake to save us, he also served us with virtue sacrificing his life even for his enemy. We thank you Lord Jesus for him. In Jesus’s name we pray trusting and believing.

Prayer for Loved Ones

Heavenly Father, we remember his loved ones. Lord give them peace in their hearts and mind. We pray that you calm their hearts and help them to accept what has befallen them. Help them to endure life without their loved one. Let them find the answers they seek in you and grant them peace in their bothered hearts and minds so that they can be able to live peacefully and continue with their lives. Show them how to move on without him and accept your will towards their lives.

Lord Jesus comfort them at this time that they are devastated. They are grieving dear Lord. We pray that you bring them comfort. May they find solace in the fact that he is now in a better place, free of sorrow, suffering and pain. May they be comforted that he dwells with you in heaven. Be with them Lord and let them find comfort in your loving arms. Help them to get past their sorrows. Teach them to accept their loss and move on. Comfort them during this time because if you hold their hands at this time and never let them go, they will be able to pull through.

Almighty God, we pray for their divine healing and the strength to move on. We come to you during this time of their mourning, we surrender their feelings, emotions and most especially their hearts to you. Let them draw strength from you. Teach them to accept this path that even them will take when their time comes. Help them to heal and move forward in a way that honors his memory. When they feel lonely, let me find solace in your holy word in the book of John 14:18.

Lord soothe their pain, wipe away the tears from their eyes and bind up the wounds in their hearts. Help them to forgive themselves for the times they felt that it was their fault. Please forgive them Lord for questioning your will. Help them to forgive their loved ones and themselves for feeling that they left them soon and that they were not able to do a lot of things together. Heal their hearts Lord and give them the strength to accept your will, move on with their lives and have peace with themselves and in their hearts.

Prayer for Rest

Jesus our savior, in your death you opened a gateway to eternal life. Look kindly on him who passed away. Unite him with your passion and death, and saved by the blood you shed, may he come before you with confidence so that he would rest in peace. Have mercy on him and accept him in your presence. Open your hands wide open and welcome him into your home that is rich in happiness, peace and all the good things.

We plead with you from the depths of our hearts for his forgiveness so that he may find redemption from all his iniquities. God the Creator and Redeemer of all the world, grant his soul the remission of all his sins. We desire that through our prayers he may obtain pardon from you. Lord hear our prayers.

Jesus, because of your bitter passion and the wounds on your body, have mercy on him. Because of your bitter agony and death on the cross, give his soul eternal rest. You were crucified on the cross to save mankind, save him as well from the fires of hell and lead his soul into heaven.

Lord grant him eternal rest and let perpetual light shine on him. May he rest in peace.

Mary, Mother of God, come to our assistance with your powerful intercession.

Final word

We should always pray for the souls in purgatory. When one ends their life on earth, a new one begins in the afterlife.

When we pray for our loved ones even after passing away, we may increase their chances of being pardoned of their sins and therefore give them a chance to get closer to seeing heaven’s gates.

We therefore should never forget to keep them in our prayers at all times even after death.
