4x Prayer For Mother Who Passed Away

Gratitude Prayer

Almighty Father, I thank you for the gift of life. Thank you for the life you gave my mother while on earth. You were there for us. Thank you for the times that I was opportune to spend my years with her. I really cherish those times either in joy or sadness. Our memories together will never depart from my heart. Thank you that you gave me the gift of a caring mother and that she was present throughout my life until the time when you decided that you wanted her back with you.

She took care of my needs whenever she could. She always tried to give me the best. Even when I knew that she was struggling to take care of me she never showed me that she was struggling. She never gave up but instead stood with me through the good and bad times. She was not able to give me everything I wanted but she gave me what she had. Thank you for all the happy years we enjoyed together. Thank you that she loved and cared for me selflessly. Thank you Lord Jesus for her.

Amen.

Prayer for Comfort

Heavenly Father, the death of my mother was truly devastating to me. I am always in pain when I grieve her. I pray that you bring me comfort. May I find solace in the fact that she is now in a better place, free of sorrow, suffering and pain. May I be comforted that she dwells with you in heaven. Be with me my Lord, act as my mother and let me find comfort in your loving arms.

When I got the devastating news that my mother had died, I could not believe it. Up till now I find it hard to come to terms with the fact that she’s no more. I hope that one day I would wake up and realize that it was just a bad dream. Every time there is a knock on the door, I rush to open with the hope that she would be the one. I don’t know how to get past all this. I don’t know how to accept but Lord I ask you to teach me how to move on. Comfort me during this time because if you hold my hand at this time and never let me go, I am certain that I will be able to pull through. Through Jesus Christ.

Amen.

Prayer for Healing and Strength

Almighty God, Father of orphans, I pray for divine healing and the strength to move on. I come to you during this time of mourning, I surrender my feelings, emotions and most especially my heart to you. I have a heart ache and I have no clue of the medicine that can cure it aside from you my God. Let me draw strength from you. Teach me to accept this path that even me will take when my time comes. When I feel lonely, let me find solace in Your Holy Book in John14:18.

It was so hard for me to accept my loss. I was mad at my mother for leaving me this early. I was angry at myself for all the things I was not able to fulfill for her. I questioned You when you took her away. I had made a lot of promises to her, to give her a better life. I was not able to fulfill them to her and therefore it is hard to forgive myself for that. Please forgive me Lord for questioning your will. I forgive my mother and myself for feeling that she left me soon and that I wasn’t able to fulfill my dreams and aspirations for her. Heal my heart Lord and give me the strength to accept your will, move on with my life and have have peace with myself and in my heart.

Amen.

Prayer for Rest

Jesus my savior, in your death you opened a gateway to eternal life. Look kindly on my mother who passed away. Unite her with your passion and death, and saved by the blood you shed, may she come before you with confidence so that she would rest in peace. Have mercy on her and accept her in your presence. Open your hands wide open and welcome her into your home that is rich in happiness, peace and all the good things.

I cry to you from the depths of my heart, pleading with you for her forgiveness so that she may find redemption from all her iniquities. God the Creator and Redeemer of all the world, grant her soul the remission of all her sins. I desire that through my prayers she may obtain pardon from you. Lord hear my prayer.

Jesus, because of your bitter passion and the wounds on your body, have mercy on her. Because of your bitter agony and death on the cross, give her soul eternal rest. You were crucified on the cross to save mankind.

Lord grant her eternal rest and let perpetual light shine on her. May she rest in peace.

Amen.

Mary, Mother of God, come to my assistance with Your powerful intercession.

Amen.

Final Word

There is nothing more painful than losing the woman who brought you into this world. We should always pray for the souls in purgatory. When one ends their life on earth, a new one begins in the afterlife.

When we pray for our loved ones even after passing away, we may increase their chances of being pardoned of their sins and therefore give them a chance to get closer to seeing heaven’s gates. We therefore should never forget to keep them in our prayers at all times.
