We always wish our loved ones to deliver their babies safely. Whenever they become pregnant, we always wish that they carry it to full term and deliver safely. We should always put our wishes before God because he alone has the power to grant our wishes.

Thanksgiving Prayer

Almighty God, I am truly grateful for the fact that you blessed me with a grandchild who now has a baby growing inside of her. Thank you for her life and the life of her unborn child. Thank you also for her health. So far everything is going smoothly with her pregnancy. I am so thankful that you have allowed her to share in the joy of motherhood which comes from you alone and which is beyond human understanding. Thank you for finally blessing her womb. That blessing is something that she really wanted and prayed for all the time, therefore thank you for answering her prayers.

Lord, she has been to the hospital for her antenatal checkups and the doctor told her that her baby is in perfect condition and health. It is not every day that we hear about healthy pregnancies and for that I am thankful. I thank you that she has another life inside her and I have faith that in the end she will rejoice in praise to you for the beautiful gift that you will bestow upon her. Thank you Lord for you mercies and keeping your promises towards us. Thank you that soon enough she will be able to hold her baby in her hands and that she will be called a mother.

My God I give thanks to you with a grateful heart. Thank you because all parenthood comes from you and you have allowed her to share in your divine motherhood. I am grateful that I too was able to share in that wonderful experience of being a mother. Thank you that you make her feel safe and I know that she can cast all her worries to you because your love for us is boundless. Thank you for everything Lord, for what you have done, what you are doing and what you will continue to do in her life.

Prayer for Courage

Heavenly Father, I pray that you give her courage to face whatever comes her way. She really needs courage throughout her pregnancy and most especially courage during delivery. Lord she asks me so many questions about my experience with my deliveries and I tell her that every pregnancy and delivery varies and she only needs to pray and draw strength and courage from you. She admits to me that she is really scared of the unknown but Lord please let her draw courage from you. Help her to remember that with you everything will be okay and that your promises are true.

She tells me that she has been told so many stories about labor and delivery. People tell her their scary experiences and it really freaks her out. She is even scared of going into labor and even thinks of scheduling surgery before her time, but I trust that you Lord won’t give her something that she can’t handle. Teach her to accept your will towards her life and wait until her labor comes. Lord in the Bible, any pain and anguish is not comparable to labor and child birth but let her still believe that with courage, she will pull through.

Genesis 3:16, You said that you will increase pain to a woman during delivery but help her to know that it is okay because at the end of it all it’s all worth it. Help her realize that there have been women in the same situation before her and she will definitely not be the first nor the last. Just like you did it for so many other women, do it for her. Give her courage to know that it is something that she will have to go through no matter what and that what matters most is a safe delivery and a healthy baby. Help her to always remember that all pain and anguish gives way to joy after delivering the baby. With this in mind, she will gain more strength and courage. John 16:21. I pray for supernatural strength for her journey ahead. Lord put her worries aside and give her faith that everything will be alright.

Prayer for Short Labor

God our creator, you said a woman will labor in pain but you did not specify the time frame. I pray that you give my grandchild a short labor. Just like how Hebrew women are described in Exodus 1:19, I pray that her case be the same as theirs. Help her not to be in anguish and pain for a very long time, Help her so that the whole labor and delivery process would be a short one. Help her not to stay in the hospital laboring for days. Help her so that as soon as she gets to the hospital, she is rushed to the delivery room and that she delivers immediately. I trust that you will do it for her Lord.

I believe Lord that you will give her the desires of her heart. Please make her own experience different from those horrifying experiences that she has been told of by other women who were in her condition before her. Be with her so that her labor will not go on and on for hours or even days. Please grant her short labor Lord but above all, let your will be done upon her.

Prayer for Safe Delivery

God Almighty, it is my prayer that she will have a safe delivery just like her pregnancy. You who began the good work in her, will be faithful to carry it on to completion. Lord you who answered her prayers to conceive are more than capable of making her have a safe delivery and perfect and healthy baby. I commit her journey towards delivery into your able hands. Give her a safe delivery without any complications. Let her and her baby be okay during and even after delivery.

Lord, during this time of waiting, I ask you to nurture and protect her first mysterious stirrings of life in her journey. Remember her Lord, may her child come safely into this world and to the new birth of baptism. Hold her hand, be with her as she steps into the delivery room. Send your Holy Spirit to be with her and guide her, protect her from harm and help her not to develop any complications during and after delivery.

Lord, you are my rock and my fortress, keep her safe as she goes through labor and delivery. I want you to be present in that delivery room so that the process will go smoothly under the best circumstances. I ask for your protection upon her and her baby. Lord Jesus, by faith, I take your Precious Blood and sprinkle it over her body. From the crown of her head to the soles of her feet, as well as her baby who is yet to see the world. I come against any plot of the evil one in the mighty name of Jesus.

I pray that you give her the best care givers. Give her good nurses and doctors who take on their work with passion. Those who work as if they are working for you. Use them so that they will help her during the whole period. Help them so that they can make her first experience easy and her first delivery safe.

O most gracious Mother Mary, You are also a mother. Intercede for me to your son Jesus Christ for he cannot refuse a request of yours.
