Prayer for Encouragement and Strength in Difficult Times
Psalm 23:1-2 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul.
Dear Heavenly Father, I come before your presence filled with despair, sadness and stress. I am at a low point in my life and I cannot go on with my own strength.
I humbly ask for your strength and encouragement. Job, David and even your own Son went through a lot worse than the problems I am facing, but you never deserted them. They came out stronger and victorious.
Help me remember your faithfulness. You say that you have great plans for your children, plans for a hope and a future. I seek comfort in your promises, knowing that no matter how bad it gets, you are still beside me.
Lord, whenever my strength fails, my hope fades and my faith falters, I pray that you shall lift me with your strength and hope. Let me see the light at the end of the tunnel. Help me see the sun from this valley of darkness and despair. May I hear your voice and see your face in the storm.
Father, I trust and believe in you. I thank you for how you are helping me overcome these problems. I will keep praising you even when things are bad, and I will praise you when I emerge a victor.

Lord, you can see what’s in my heart. You can see that my faith has been shaken by the troubles I am going through. My spirit is low and I know longer feel your close presence. I am afraid that I am drifting further and further from you.
That’s why I come to you asking that you grant me the gift of unwavering faith, even when the world around seems uncertain. Help me anchor my trust in your promises, knowing that you are faithful and steadfast. When doubts arise, remind me of the countless ways you have shown your love and grace throughout my life.
Help me remember all the times you have come through for me, and have hope that you will keep doing so.

Heavenly Father, I come to you asking for your encouragement and healing power. This sickness has left me weak in the body as well as in the spirit. I am finding it hard to praise you and read your Word. The pain and discomfort have drawn me further from your presence.
Dear Lord, you say that you know the plans you have for us. So I commit my health into your hands. I pray that you cast away this illness and restore me to full health. Soothe away the pain and surround me with your comfort.
Most importantly, my Lord, restore my spirit and longing for you. Regardless of the direction my health takes, may my faith remain unshaken. Even as my body fails me, remind me to fix my eyes upon you.
Remind me of your unfailing love and your might power. You have done amazing things in my life and I know you’ll keep blessing me. Help me remember that when I feel anxious and stressed about my health.
You are the Great Healer. I believe in you and trust in your Word and promises. Forgive me for any doubt that may have crossed my mind and the moments when my spirit has been weak. From now on, I will lean on your strength.

Lord, I pray that you help my friend remain steadfast in your faith. If they feel like you’ve deserted them, open their eyes to your presence. If they feel down and hopeless, overwhelm them with your hope. If they feel weak of spirit, renew their faith and hold them up with your strength.
I pray that I become a vessel of your hope and joy. Give me the right words to say and the right things to do to encourage and inspire my friend.
Lord, only you know what plans you have for my friend. But your Word assures us that you always have great plans for us. I commit my friend in your arms. Whatever happens in their life, remind them of your love and faithfulness. Wrap them in your tender embrace and surround them with your comfort and peace.
May this journey become a period of spiritual growth and strengthening. I pray that they come out of this praising your name and shouting of your goodness.
Bless my friend’s family as well. Encourage them through whatever struggles they are facing. Strengthen my friend’s family and help them lean on you and on each other for strength.
